One of the most important problems in the research and development of the software is how we can design more advanced software in more straightforward and more rigorous ways.
In that perspective, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be seen as a key technology for developing far more advanced software based on the computational model of human intelligence.
Software Engineering (SE), on the other hand, is the key technology for developing complex and large-scale software systems in a simple and disciplined way.
Combining AI and SE, the Laboratory of Intelligent Software provides one of the most unique research opportunities for creating synergetic, novel, highly intelligent information systems and the best educational environments for students who wish to study the widest range of the state-of-the-art software technologies unified with the knowledge-based AI methodologies.
